This is Tel Aviv Ska Invasion!

On October 13th Los Caparos and Israelli SKA LOVERS will celebrate the beginning of the New 5778 Year!

Featuring Chris Murray (California) and very special guests - Ranking Levy (My Lord Sound), Glenn Tamir (Skavanagila) and Yogev Haruvi (Drums&Didg).

DJ set: My Lord Sound

Opening act: Skarate KID

Skarate KID were formed in Tel Aviv, Israel, in early 2015. The agenda was, and still is, to make people happy and to spread the good vibes all around. From the deep roots in Jamaica, inspired by the good old times in the UK and festivities of South America and Eastern Europe, not forgetting a sip of Bourbon in the US. and a few good sips of Arak back home… The Skarate KIDs bring their own unique twist and serve up the Middle Eastern Ska style.

Ranking Levy preaches the rub a dub gospel to the four corners of the world.

Glenn Tamir began playing drums in 1976. Co-founded Saratoga Springs based reggae band Motherless and the Merry Knights. Motherless, an electrib banjo player from Glendevon, JA, introduced Glenn to Lloyd Knibbs - Skatalites drummer and 'inventor' of the ska drumming style. Blessed to meet and play with musicians including Roland Alphonso, and Cedric Im Brooks. Founded the NY based Ska-Klezmer fusion group Klezka in 2002. Moved from US to Galilee, Israel eleven years ago.

Yogev Haruvi is a human rhythm machine made from drums and didgeridoos, virtuoso percussionist, aimed to get everybody dance with joy and happiness.

Chris Murray is a unique force on today's music scene. As leader of influential Canadian ska group King Apparatus, Chris earned a strong reputation as a dynamic performer and gifted songwriter. Upon the band's breakup, he relocated to Los Angeles and emerged as a solo artist. He entered LA’s ultra-purist rock steady scene armed only with an acoustic guitar, and has become a leading figure in the world’s foremost authentic Jamaican music community, pioneering a solo acoustic approach that has now become widespread in the genre.

Life has led Chris down a musical path to the very roots of reggae music. From trading songs on acoustic guitar with boogie-ska pioneer Laurel Aitken and singing with famed bandleader Carlos Malcom, to jamming with The Specials in a basement club and recording with Jamaica’s original rhythm section, Lloyd Knibb and Lloyd Brevett, Chris has served his apprenticeship with the finest musicians associated with the genre. He has also performed with backing groups for such legendary Jamaican artists as Rico Rodriguez, Leonard Dillon (The Ethiopians), Eric Morris and Prince Buster.

His musical journeys have taken him throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, the UK, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

This October Chris arrives in Israel to perform at Mystical Mountain in Safed and Los Caparos will seize the opportunity to collaborate with one of the iconic ska performers of North America.
